The time has come for a new generation of leaders in Sport to #TakeCharge. With this purpose in mind, SIGA is officially opening the application process for the new SIGA Youth Council (SYC) and actively encouraging all young people, aged 18-29, who are passionate for Sport and have a strong commitment to integrity to join us in this exciting endeavour.
The inaugural SIGA Youth Council class brought together individuals from a range of continents, backgrounds, skills and experiences that combined to form a formidable team. During their time, they demonstrated the future for Sport Leadership and Integrity is indeed bright and are looking to pass the baton to those that aspire to follow in their footsteps and build upon the platform they have helped to create.
The new SIGA Youth Council members will serve an 18-month term, during which they will be presented with the opportunity to forge long-lasting and invaluable networks with current and future Sport Leaders, kick-starting their own path to the top.
Speaking on behalf of SIGA, Global CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros invites all aspiring leaders in Sport to join SIGA and be a part of the global movement to reform the industry. He stated:
“If I had one message for all young people aspiring to be changemakers in sport or planning their career trajectories to the highest echelons, I would say this: join the SIGA Youth Council. This is your opportunity to take a leadership role and help shape the future of Sport, in the way that you envision it – hand in glove with the World’s largest coalition in the field of Sport’s Governance and Integrity. ”
