The President of Concacaf and Vice President of the FIFA Council, Victor Montagliani, will be the guest speaker in the second episode of the SIGA-Soccerex Webinar series “COVID 360°: Where does Football go now?”
The Webinar will take place on 20 May 2020 at 15.00 UK time.
Moderated by CNN sports anchor Amanda Davies, the SIGA-Soccerex Webinar will offer an insightful discussion on the most critical challenges resulting from the current global pandemic and incoming economic recession, and their impact upon football from both a confederations’ perspective, as well as their wider international ramifications.
SIGA’s CEO and Chairman of SIGA AMERICA, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, will also discuss with Victor Montagliani the recent FIFA regulatory reforms in relation to players’ transfers, agents’ activities and the need for an international clearinghouse, amongst other pressing topics that are at the heart of SIGA’s governance and integrity reforms.
Ahead of the webinar, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, CEO of SIGA and Chairman and CEO of SIGA AMERICA, said:
“The legacy that Victor Montagliani inherited when he took the helm at Concacaf could not have been more challenging. With four of his predecessors arrested, indicted by the US Department of Justice and banned from football for life by FIFA’s Ethics Committee, Concacaf’s credibility was tarnished. Today, Concacaf has come a long way towards restoring its reputation, and credit must go to its leader. Sponsors are back, the Champions League is stronger, and Mexico, US and Canada are getting ready to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The current health and economic crisis bring however a new wave of challenges. I look forward to discussing these with the Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani, and exploring what the future will bring for football at confederation and world level.”
