Commenting upon the opening of the application process, Katie Simmonds, SIGA’s Global COO and Director of #SIGAWomen Programme, stated:
“Gender equity in the boardroom of sports organisations is the Gold Standard for the SIGA Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport. We are still a long way off from achieving this!
The #SIGAWomen Global Mentorship Programme is a pragmatic way to create long lasting leadership lanes for young women carving out a career in the industry. The philosophy is simple: those women that have pieced the gender glass ceiling paving the way for the young generation. This year’s programme was a success and I look forward to expanding the programme in 2022.”
Alison Giordano, Vice President, Global Consumer Marketing and Sponsorships, Mastercard | Vice-Chair, SIGA Council:
“At Mastercard, we believe a world designed with women in mind creates limitless possibilities for all. I look forward to supporting SIGA’s mentorship program for aspiring female leaders in Sport and helping unlock opportunities for the next generation.”
