Going for Gold in 2024 SIGA’s Global Strategy Unanimously Approved at Annual General Assembly

Geneva, 2 August 2024

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) concluded its 2024 Annual General Assembly (AGM) with unanimous approval of its global strategy, action plan and budget, as well as its 2023 annual report of activities, financial statements and independent audit report.

Representing over 200 global member organizations, committed supporters and partners, SIGA’s supreme internal organ reaffirmed its support to the Alliance’s ambitious reform agenda and strategic plan. This was on full display at the AGM with an agenda that articulated a period of stabilisation, re-organisation and galvanisation, which ensured a tangible growth period in terms of membership, thought leadership projects and events and sound influence over the period under review. It was clear that these efforts have laid the foundations for ever-increasing on-going impact, an expansion of outputs and a prosperous and dynamic future.

Led by independent Chair Giovanni Tartaglia Porcini and Global CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, the AGM also included SIGA Vice-Chairs Vice-Chairs Alison Giordano (Senior Vice-President, Global Sponsorships & Consumer Marketing, Mastercard) Mohammed Hanzab (Chairman, ICSS) and Densign White (CEO, IMMAF) and newly elected co-chair of the SIGA Youth Council, Anca-Maria Gherghel (Research Manager, EPIC Global Solutions). They were joined by a global representation of SIGA Members, the wider SIGA team and independent observers.

All those in attendance at the AGM evaluated and discussed the progress made by the world’s leading independent Sport Integrity coalition in 2023 and reviewed the roadmap and budget for what promises to be a transformative year ahead. All item points were voted on and met with unanimous approval.

Notably, SIGA also took this opportunity to formally ratify the admission of the following new five Members: ANDIF, APC Compliance, LP Avvocati, TrueClinic and Vitória Sport Clube.

Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Global CEO of SIGA, commented:

I was thrilled to share the remarkable progress and global impact of our recent efforts at our AGM. We have reached significant milestones in recent months, and I relished the opportunity to chart our exciting course of action for the rest of 2024 and beyond. The collective efforts of the SIGA team, along with the inspirational and pivotal contributions of our members and committed supporters, have created a body of work we can all be proud of. It was immensely validating to see all points endorsed and unanimously approved.

Driven by those who aspire to a better future for Sport, this incredible, independent, global movement continues to grow. It was a pleasure to welcome new members who are joining the critical mass pushing for global sport integrity reforms. SIGA is uniquely positioned to lead sport into this new era. While much has been achieved, there’s much more to accomplish. We are just getting started.”
