SIGA has just announced that São Paulo will host the inaugural Latin American edition of its prestigious Summit on Female Leadership in Sport. The Brazilian debut will take place on May 12th at the headquarters of leading law firm Pinheiro Neto Advogados.

This milestone forum underscores SIGA’s ongoing commitment to promoting female leadership and advancing gender equity in Sport. It also reinforces the growing impact of SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s initiatives across the continent. The thought leadership event is being driven by a dedicated organizing committee that includes Christina Massis, from São Paulo’s FC Youth Women’s Football Division, and Flávia Arantes de Nascimento, Board Member of the Pequeno Príncipe Hospital.

Following the successful inaugural session of SIGAWomen – Brazil Chapter, held on November 8th, momentum in the region continues to build. Forty global mentors have been confirmed for this year’s cycle of the Global Mentorship Programme, and applications have been received from a wide range of mentees throughout Latin America.

The Summit on Female Leadership in Sport – Brazil Edition will bring together global leaders and industry trailblazers to promote good governance, integrity, and the commercial development of women’s sport, while shining a spotlight on the women leading this transformation. The event will offer high-level networking opportunities and action-oriented discussions on today’s most pressing issues, including the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Brazil next year.

The São Paulo Summit follows previous editions in New York, with the next scheduled to take place in Dubai on April 8th.

Katie Simmonds, Global Chief Commercial Officer and Chair of the SIGAWomen Council, shared her excitement about hosting the first Summit on Female Leadership in Sport in Latin America:

“I’ve said it once and I will say it again – the SIGAWomen global movement is growing with more participants and partners coming on board. Each continent whilst united in similar challenges in the field of gender equity, has its own nuances so it is fitting and timely that our next stop is Brazil – a country where SIGA has successfully laid foundations with our LATIN AMERICAN subsidiary, headquartered in Sao Paulo and home to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup. I look forward to convening our strong community of global mentors in Brazil and call on other partners like Pinheiro Neto Advogados to champion the cause.”

Fernando Meira, Managing Partner, Pinheiro Neto Advogados, expressed the firm’s commitment to promoting female leadership in sport:

“It will be a great pleasure to host the Annual SIGA Summit 2025, a leading event on female leadership in sport. This gathering is a unique opportunity to bring together leaders who are driving transformation, with the goal of building a more just and equal society. At Pinheiro Neto Advogados, we believe in the power of sport as a catalyst for meaningful and inspiring change in favor of diversity.”
