SIGA Latin America inaugurated today the Sport Integrity Week 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil, with the Sport Integrity Forum, a premier thought-leadership event held in partnership with São Paulo Futebol Clube as Hosting Partner, and UOL as media partner. Taking place at the renowned MorumBIS Stadium, the event gathered leading voices from across Brazil’s sports ecosystem, government, business, and civil society, uniting to advance integrity and sustainable practices in Sport.

For the second consecutive year, the Sport Integrity Forum Latin America 2024 brought together over 250 respected professionals, focusing on pivotal topics, including good governance, financial transparency, betting integrity, youth development, diversity, inclusion, and the application of technology and sustainability in sport. The forum is designed to foster leadership and innovation, facilitating transformative dialogues and actionable commitments to support an ethical and responsible sporting culture.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in key sessions and interactive discussions, such as “Good Governance in Sport,” with insights from Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, Daniel Alonso Duarte, and Chantal Pillet, as well as “Sponsorships that Transform,” moderated by Chantal Castro. Attendees also experienced ‘SIGA Talks’ from industry experts, and a fireside chat explored AI’s role in sport, led by Gustavo Bodra and Daniel Sibille, among many other relevant participations. Female Leadership was also among the crucial discussions, with participation of Milene Domingues, Cátia Veloso, Olga Bagatini and Bruna Kellerman.

One of the hottest topics in current Brazilian Sport landscape is Sports Betting Integrity. Paulo Schmitt, Fabio Macorin, and Ueltom Lima Gomes, gathered for a sharp discussion under the topic “Sports Betting in Brazil: Paths to Integrity and Efficcient Regulation”.

During the opening speech, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros shared relevant information about the work that is being developed at the continental level by SIGA LATIN AMERICA, emphasizing cooperation with strategic partners from the Sports industry,  at the Government level, and Sports Betting operators, while urging all like-minded organizations to step forward to joining SIGA’s reform agenda.

To further enhance accessibility and outreach, the “Sports Management Podcast: SIW Special Edition” launched today an episode featuring Roberto Armelin in an insightful discussion with host Marcus Filipsson (listen here)

In Lisbon, Clube de Futebol “Os Belenenses” and the National Association of Football Scouts hosted “Scouting Talks: Who and How” at Restelo Stadium, emphasizing SIGA’s youth protection agenda and safeguarding the future of sports through secure scouting practices.
