Inclusion and Diversity at the heart of the partnership sealed in Miami, during the SIGA GRID Forum
Access Earth is the latest member to join Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) during The SIGA Gender, Race, Inclusion and Diversity (GRID) Forum hosted by Soccerex Americas, in Miami.
The agreement further signals SIGA’s intent to press for positive change around core inclusivity and accessibility principles, amongst their other Sport Integrity Reform Objectives. The MoU establishes a base for collaborative action moving forwards that delivers upon mutual goals and builds upon the conclusions of the SIGA GRID Forum (read here).
Access Earth is the latest in a growing group of new members to have joined the collective in 2022: following other entities such as the Portuguese Swimming Federation and the Azores Government.
Commenting on the new partnership, the SIGA Global CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, stated:
“Without accessibility there is no inclusion in Sport. As a matter of fact, there’s no Sport. This is one of the many reasons why SIGA is delighted to welcome Access Earth as the latest member to join our global coalition. This is a key component of the integral work that the SIGA Standing Committee on GRID is pioneering as part of our drive to enhance sports governance globally. I congratulate Matt McCann and the Access Earth team for the work they are doing in this field, and look forward to our collaborative efforts to make tangible progress in the months and years ahead.”
