The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) is pleased to announce Aspire Academy as the latest organisation to join the world’s leading coalition on Sport Integrity in 2023. Aspire joins a host of other new members that have become SIGA members this year, with their on-going global expansion made evident during their flagship annual event, Sport Integrity Week 2023.
The partnership between Aspire Academy and SIGA will build upon the organisations’ long-standing dialogue and cooperation and will underpin the pursuit of their mutual Sport Integrity Goals.
This latest addition to SIGA’s global membership base underscores the depth and breadth of the critical mass that SIGA is continuing to mobilise behind the common goal of establishing a new landscape for enhanced good governance, transparency and accountability in Sport.
Sport Integrity Week 2023, which is well underway, has seen a number of new members and new cooperation agreements, the launch of the Executive Education Certificate for Good Governance in Sport, the launch of “The Independent Study on The Future of Football in Brazil” in partnership with the Brazilian Government and Congress, and the release of the 2023 edition of the SIGA Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport, in English and for the first time in in Portuguese. These are exciting times for SIGA and for Sport Integrity alike.
Aspire Academy’s Director General Ivan Bravo stated ahead of the signing:
“Aspire Academy is looking forward to contributing its expertise and knowledge to the Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA). We see this as a way of continuing to strengthen our commitment to sport as a catalyst for growth and social development globally. The Alliance heads multiple initiatives through its Universal Standards for Youth Development. This is an area where we can offer relevant insights and share our experiences. For almost 20 years now, Aspire Academy has been developing young sporting talents in a safe atmosphere to ensure the fair participation of young people in elite sports. We want to help continue the development of policies and practices that can help protect young athletes, enabling them to thrive and fulfil their full potential.”
SIGA’s Global CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, added:
“We warmly welcome Aspire Academy to our growing membership during SIW2023. Their commitment to integrity and to adopting and implementing the highest levels of standards in the field of youth development and protection in Sport are to be commended. Their efforts have, and will continue to, enable athletes to reach their potential in a positive environment and we look forward to working with Aspire to disseminate best practice in these areas.
We encourage all other organisations, from around the world, and from every sector of the sporting industry, to join our global movement and be the champion of Sport Integrity.”
