SIGA LATIN AMERICA is pleased to announce that it has strengthened its team in Brazil with the appointment of André Megale, an attorney who will serve as Director of Good Governance and Integrity.

With an established international career and over 20 years of experience in Corporate Law, Compliance, and Sports Law, André Megale will leverage his expertise to enhance integrity practices in Brazilian sports and across Latin America.

The addition of the new Director of Good Governance and Integrity reflects the commitment undertaken by SIGA and SIGA LATIN AMERICA to their community of members and partners in Latin America, as well as the need to address the growing challenges confronting the sports industry, including, among others, the newly regulated sports betting sector.

By taking this important step, SIGA LATIN AMERICA reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its services and supporting the Brazilian Government, with which it signed its first Technical Cooperation Agreement in October 2024 with the Ministry of Finance. In doing so, the organization also ensures that its members benefit from enhanced expertise to tackle the challenges of this demanding segment.

André Megale has built a distinguished career marked by significant roles in leading organizations. A Law graduate from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP) and holder of an international specialization – the “FIFA Master” – his experience includes positions such as Legal Manager at the Brazilian Stock Exchange’s Self-Regulatory Entity for Market Supervision (BSM), Compliance Director at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), and key roles in legal advisory for major sporting events, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Copa América. His professional background demonstrates a profound understanding of the principles of good governance and integrity in the sports arena.

Commenting on the appointment, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Co-Founder and Global CEO of SIGA; Chair and CEO of SIGA LATIN AMERICA, extended a warm welcome to André Megale and stated:

“SIGA LATIN AMERICA is fully committed to promoting integrity in Brazilian sports and throughout Latin America, and this appointment is a further testament to that commitment.

I have known Dr. André Megale for many years and have had the pleasure of working with him in Europe at the Association of European Professional Football Leagues and the Association of World Leagues—international organizations where I served as CEO for a decade. I recognize his value, professional competence, and the personal qualities that make him the ideal person to reinforce our team of outstanding and dynamic executives, as well as our commitment to integrity in sports and to all those who join us in this mission.”

André Megale, the new Director of Good Governance and Integrity at SIGA LATIN AMERICA, added:

“It is with great enthusiasm that I assume the role of Director of Governance and Integrity at SIGA. I thank Dr. Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros and the entire leadership of the organization for the trust placed in my work. With my experience in the sector, I reaffirm my commitment to the ongoing mission of fostering an environment of integrity and transparency within sports entities and the betting market, thereby strengthening the pillars of integrity, fair play, and responsible governance.”
