On the second day of the Sport Integrity Week 2024, SIGA took center stage at Cityscape Global in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the driving force behind critical discussions on Sport Integrity, and sustainable development within the global sports landscape.

Serving as official Sports Partner of the event, SIGA’s participation marked a significant step in fostering dialogue on these issues in the Middle East. Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA’s Global CEO, set the tone with an impactful keynote titled, “Governing Sport – Elevating Global Sport Through Leadership and Innovation,” underscoring the economic and social power of Sport when governed under the highest integrity standards. In his powerful speech, Macedo de Medeiros invited all like-minded organizations and individuals to join forces with SIGA to reform Sport, and promote Integrity in Sport. The adoption of the SIGA Universal Standards on Sport Integrity, and SIRVS were flagged as the solution for any organization committed to advancing in this field.

A highlight of the day was the panel discussion, Sport Integrity as the Cornerstone for Sustainable Development, where Emanuel was joined by notable industry figures Simon Colosimo (Senior Executive, Football Player Association of Saudi Arabia; Former Deputy Secretary General, FIFPRO), Maite Ventura (Managing Director, LaLiga MENA), and Densign White (CEO, International Mixed Martial Arts Federation). Together, they explored how integrity must be central to the governance of sports organizations to ensure long-term sustainability. Moderated by Katie Simmonds, this panel called for reinforced governance structures and showcased the effectiveness of the SIGA Universal Standards, a model increasingly recognized as essential for sports organizations worldwide.

To close SIGA’s participation on the day, the panel “SIGA Champions: Using the Power of Integrity to Inspire the Next Generation”, gathered football legends Louis Saha, Gilberto Silva, Sol Campbell and Nicola Innocentin, who shared personal insights on inspiring cultural change.
