The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) is proud to announce the expansion of its SIGAWomen Council with the addition of Her Excellency Noura Aljasmi, a distinguished leader in the sports and cultural landscape of the United Arab Emirates. This expansion comes in alignment with SIGA’s strategic move to establish SIGA ASIA in 2025, further reinforcing its global commitment to promoting good governance and, in particular, fostering female leadership in sport.
HE Noura Aljasmi is an influential figure in the international sports sector. As the current President of the UAE Badminton Federation and Vice President of Badminton Asia, she has been at the forefront of sports development in Asia. Noura’s expertise extends to her vital roles as a member of the Executive Board of the Olympic Council of Asia and as a Board Member of the UAE National Olympic Committee. Her leadership has garnered global recognition, notably with her election to the Executive Board of the Olympic Council of Asia for the 2024-2028 term, where she received unanimous support from participating countries. Furthermore, Noura is a Board Member of Al-Nasr Club, one of the UAE’s most prestigious sports institutions. Her diverse roles across various sports organizations highlight her dedication to advancing sports integrity and development both regionally and internationally.
The inclusion of HE Noura Aljasmi further strengthens the SIGAWomen Council, which is composed of a distinguished group of high-level leaders from across the globe. These professionals bring a wealth of expertise in governance, sports, business, and international relations, providing valuable guidance and advocacy for the promotion of gender equity in sport.
The SIGAWomen Council is committed to ensuring that female leadership continues to grow within the decision-making structures of sports governing bodies. By integrating Noura’s vast experience and vision, SIGA solidifies its dedication to advancing its Universal Standards on Good Governance in Sport and enhancing the global impact of the SIGAWomen initiative.
