A growing wave of enthusiasm and expectation is surrounding the announcement of the SIRVS Rating to be attributed to the European Rugby League, the first sporting organisation to be scrutinized by an independent entity.

The verdict will be known next Tuesday,  23 November, at 10:45 am UK time, during a special event taking place in London at the British Standard Institution (BSI), the independent third party to whom SIGA has commissioned the operation of SIRVS following an international public tender held to that effect.

Bronze, Silver or Gold are the possible ratings, each corresponding to a concrete level of compliance with the SIGA Universal Standards on Sport Integrity. In ERL’s case, the audit and consequent rating will focus on Good Governance in Sport.

Commenting on the much awaited announcement of the SIRVS Rating of the European Rugby League, the SIGA Global CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros stated:

Sport knows that with people’s passion, trust and confidence comes accountability and scrutiny. Sport is aware of its responsibilities in today’s world and the need to live up to people’s  expectations.  Integrity is everything! And this implies adopting the SIGA Universal Standards and opening itself to independent scrutiny. This means SIRVS.

The European Rugby League has given a major step forward. They are leading the way and setting an example for the entire sporting industry. We commend their foresight and commitment to good governance and integrity in Sport and look forward to the big day.”

SIGA’s public announcement will be preceded, at 10:00 am UK time, by a digital media conference, open to media from all over the world, which are showing a growing interest in the event.
