Arkady Dvorkovich

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) became a member of SIGA in February 2023, with the aim of preventing risks and threats to the integrity of sport.

In a three-question interview, Arkady Dvorkovich, President of FIDE, shared his views on the partnership:

“The use of prohibited substances or technologies is one of the issues sports face. Chess is now facing the risk of computer systems being used in playing chess, especially online. We have all the tools to manage those risks. We are aware of those risks. We want to make sure that all organizers, all stakeholders have a clear understanding of this.”

“We need to improve the dialogue among all stakeholders and make sure that we prevent risks and threats to the integrity of our sport, rather than deal with those issues after they appear in sport arenas.”

“We do believe that we can learn a lot from the best practices that SIGA accumulates throughout the world, working with all sports federations and countries.”
