The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) confirms its status as the world’s largest coalition in the field of Integrity in Sport and celebrates the inclusion of new permanent Media Partners.

After announcing the inclusion of the newspapers A Bola, As, O Jogo, Record, and the information sites Inside World Football and Twentytwo13, today we are proud to announce three new partners who will give voice – literally – to the most pressing issues for sport reform.

From South America we salute the commitment of the Argentinean Chamber of Radios Oline (CADERO), which through its representative, the radio host Yessica Bernardou, insisted on joining the growing movement for Integrity. The young entrepreneur Marcus Filipsson, passionate about management in sports and creator of the interesting Sports Management Podcast, joins in from Sweden. He regularly interviews sport industry leaders, highlighting issues related to SIGA’s reform agenda.

Marcus Filipsson commented on the partnership with enthusiasm:

Sports Management Podcast is proud to partner with SIGA as a Permanent Media Partner. We stand with SIGA to work for a sport industry clean of criminal, unethical and illicit activities. Therefore, Sports Management Podcast will use its platform to help spread the word of SIGA’s great work and discuss with sports managers how they work towards achieving high integrity standards in their fields. It’s our belief that if the sports community join efforts, we can collectively contribute to raising the integrity standards in the sports industry“.

Yessica Bernardou, CADERO’s President, is also vibrant, when talking about the new permanent partnership:

We want to promote integrity and good practices in sport. We will do it by producing content in podcast format and distribute it to the associated online radios. Culture and sport are fundamental axes in the development of societies. We are the digital voice of those experiences“.

Last but not least, the voice of Integrity will also have journalist Duncan Castles and Communications Consultant Ian McGarry as ambassadors. They are responsible for the podcast The Transfer Window, which was nominated for the election of the Podcast of the Year of the 41st Scottish Press Awards.

Duncan Castles explains the reasons for establishing this partnership with SIGA:

Sport has never been more popular. Nor has it ever generated and handled as much money as it does today. With popularity and voluminous revenues, however, comes increased incentive to use sport for political purpose or pervert the principles of fair competition by leveraging financial muscle. The Transfer Window podcast regularly explores these issues in the context of elite football. We are delighted to partner with SIGA.

Disclaimer: The agreement to join efforts with SIGA does not involve any financial transactions, ensuring respect for the values of a free press and the independence of each of the Media Partners and SIGA. It also doesn’t include any obligation that would threaten editorial freedom. SIGA will cooperate at all-time with the Media Partners upon their request, keep them informed about the Alliance activities and Integrity issues, and promote mutual participation in initiatives regarding Sport Integrity awareness and promotion.
