SIGA’s Global CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros and Euroleague Basketball’s President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu addressed the current challenges facing professional basketball, and the wider sport, in Europe and beyond.
The two leaders, whose cooperation goes back to the days where the SIGA Global CEO was at the helm of the European Professional Football Leagues and the World Leagues Association, addressed the sporting and economic impact of the global pandemic and agreed that Sport, if governed with the highest integrity standards, can act a powerful dynamo of social and economic recovery. Both leaders expressed confidence in Sport’s ability to transform the current circumstances into opportunities for success, for the benefit of Sport and the wider European society and economy. To end, Sport must now walk the talk and lead by example.
During the visit to Euroleague Basketball’s headquarters, Macedo de Medeiros shared the progress being made by SIGA and unveiled some of the strategic goals and thought leadership the Alliance has in store for 2022. Both organisations expressed their commitment to reinforce cooperation and will meet again soon.
