The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) and Soccerex have deepened their existing partnership and teamed up during the current coronavirus crisis by designing a series of bespoke webinars for the sports industry on hot topics impacting the sector.

Critical issues related to sports governance and integrity will run through the webinar series, with the first edition to focus on professional football and the contrasting perspectives of high-profile speakers and experts from leagues, clubs, confederations and players’ unions on how they are dealing with the impact of the global pandemic, which has literally closed football grounds around the world.

The SIGA-Soccerex Webinar Series will occur every three weeks, with the first Webinar taking place on Wednesday 29 April 2020 at 15.00 UK time. Designed to be dynamic, informative and interactive, online delegates will have the possibility to send questions in advance to specific sports industry leaders as well as ask questions in real time.

Speaker announcements and registration links will go live in the coming days!

Speaking about the partnership, Katie Simmonds, General Counsel & Senior Director, Global Partnerships of SIGA and Senior Vice President, SIGA AMERICA commented:

The new SIGA-Soccerex Webinar Series is a natural step to meet the evolving needs of the sporting industry and deliver premium content to the millions of football executives, players and fans who are working from home during this coronavirus crisis.

SIGA is a proud partner of Soccerex. since 2018. Our new digital platform will allow us to continue propelling our thought leadership initiatives and maintain the engagement of the sports community during the current pandemic and beyond. The games may be on hold for now, but Sport Integrity cannot stop.”

Philip Gegan, Managing Director of Soccerex stated:

“For Soccerex, the integrity of the game we all love is of supreme importance as a solid base for all other efforts linked to the sport to build on. That importance will only be heightened, and must be focused on, following the additional pressures the constituents of the industry are under with the current coronavirus crisis.

SIGA’s efforts to provide frameworks and guidelines for all organisations that work in sport regarding integrity and governance is admirable and we are excited to deepen our ongoing partnership with them, starting with this webinar series, to provide much needed content, thought leadership and ongoing training.”

This is the eleventh in a set of thirty boosting measures and initiatives being announced and developed by SIGA as part of the Alliance’s  global campaign #SIGASTRIVES.

SIGA STRIVES Measure 12 will be announced on Tuesday 19th April! Stay tuned.
