New SIGA Sport Club Network will connect clubs across sports and markets to share expertise, foster good governance, develop joint projects, and access partners, funding opportunities and international opportunities
The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) today announced the launch of the SIGA Sport Club Network, a new global platform created to connect clubs across different sports, countries and markets and turn shared challenges into practical solutions, partnerships and opportunities.
Sport clubs may compete in different disciplines and operate in vastly different environments, but many of the challenges they face are increasingly similar – from governance, integrity, funding and safeguarding to artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability and international growth.
The SIGA Sport Club Network is designed to break down the traditional silos between sports and borders, to enable clubs to maximise resources, learn from one another, share experience and expertise, develop collaborative projects and connect with the people, organisations and opportunities that can help them progress.
Its founding principle is clear: “Different Sports. Different Markets. Common Challenges. Better Solutions.”
Open to clubs from all sports and at different stages of development, the Sport Club Network will take a needs-driven approach. Each club’s priorities, challenges and ambitions will be identified before SIGA connects it with the most relevant experts, tools, partners, projects, opportunities and international platforms. Benefits are subject to membership level, eligibility and the availability of relevant opportunities.
The objective is not generic networking, but practical collaboration and measurable value. The Network model specifically provides for curated introductions based on each club’s actual needs and pathways towards projects, partnerships, assessments and other initiatives.
A key component will be the SIGA Project Accelerator, through which clubs can identify relevant funding opportunities, connect with other clubs, universities, specialist organizations and businesses, develop joint project concepts and build international consortia, with support for preparing funding applications.
The Network will also provide access to expertise and practical opportunities in areas including governance and integrity, financial and project development, safeguarding and youth protection, AI and digital transformation, sustainability and social impact.
Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Co-Founder and Global CEO of SIGA, said:
“Clubs are the basic cells of Sport. Every one of them has an identity to preserve, a community to serve and an ambition to fulfil. Having worked alongside clubs and leagues for more than three decades, I know how much they can achieve with the right expertise, relationships and support. With the SIGA Sport Club Network, we are putting all that wealth of knowledge, experience and global reach at their service.
Through the Network, clubs can combine expertise and resources to undertake more ambitious projects and pursue opportunities that would be difficult to develop alone. Our independent, neutral platform will connect them with one another across sports and borders, and with sponsors, businesses and specialists, complementing the work of leagues, federations and club associations.
Our ambition is simple: to help clubs grow sustainably, strengthen integrity and good governance, and make an even greater contribution to society and the economy. I invite clubs to join us as Founding Members and help shape this Network. Their Network! A Network that serves their ambitions and brings lasting benefits to their fans, shareholders and communities. Their progress will be the measure of our success.”
SIGA is now inviting clubs worldwide, from all sports, to become Founding Members of the SIGA Sport Club Network.
Founding Members will have the opportunity to help shape the Network’s initial priorities, participate in its inaugural advisory structure, receive early visibility of new project and consortium opportunities and propose or lead cross-Sport initiatives.
Interested clubs can arrange a Club Opportunity Session to explore their specific priorities, challenges and ambitions and how the SIGA Sport Club Network can support them
