The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has just launched the new Edition of the Sport Integrity Journal (SIJ), dedicated to Sports Betting Integrity and the Future of Integrity Frameworks in Latin America.

Bringing together 24 contributors across seven countries, this Special Edition provides one of the most comprehensive multi-stakeholder reflections to date on the challenges, opportunities and reforms shaping Sports Betting Integrity across Latin America.

As regulated Sports Betting markets continue to consolidate throughout the region, SIGA LATIN AMERICA believes this is a critical moment to move beyond isolated and reactive approaches and towards a more coordinated, preventive and sustainable integrity framework.

The new edition brings together public authorities, regulators, sports organisations, betting industry representatives, legal and compliance experts, international specialists, media and other key stakeholders from Brazil, Paraguay, Colombia, Argentina, Ecuador. Experts from Portugal and the United States also shared their experiences.

Contributions include first-hand experiences from public authorities and regulated markets, lessons from leading sports organisations such as the NFL, CONMEBOL, CBF, the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation and Federação Paulista de Futebol, and perspectives from experts working directly on regulation, and regional cooperation.

Among the issues addressed are the role of public authorities in protecting Sport Integrity; Anti-Money Laundering and international cooperation; comparative approaches to the criminalisation of competition manipulation; compliance and institutional capacity in regulated markets; the responsibilities of operators; integrity programmes within sports organisations; athlete education and prevention; responsible gambling; media and public perception; financial intelligence; regulatory harmonisation; and legal cooperation across Latin America.

The publication also reinforces SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s growing role as a reform-oriented regional convening body, bringing together governments, regulators, the sports movement, industry and civil society around a shared agenda of Integrity, transparency, accountability and cooperation.
