The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) proudly launched the 2025 edition of the SIGA Women Global Mentorship Programme, igniting a new cycle of empowerment, learning, and leadership grounded in integrity and purpose.
In the opening session, 100 women from over 50 countries gathered virtually, united by a shared ambition: to grow as leaders, to lift each other, and to shape the future of sport through values-based mentorship.
Following two “How to Mentor” onboarding sessions and the successful pairing of mentees and mentors, the programme officially began with an inspiring session on Goal Setting. But this wasn’t just about setting targets—it was about building a leadership journey grounded in authenticity, courage, and self-awareness.
The session was led and curated by Katie Simmonds, Chief Commercial Officer of SIGA and Chair of the SIGA Women Council and featured impactful contributions from leading voices in sport, including:
- Jessica Stommel, Head of Frauenfußball & Director Sales at SportFive
- Maite Ventura Olóriz, Managing Director MENA at LaLiga
- Nicola Beswick, Strategy Director at Wasserman
Their insights set a powerful tone for the months ahead, helping participants define meaningful objectives and establish a foundation for their mentoring journey.
SIGAWomen’s Top Takeaways:
- Trust your instincts. Your intuition is a leadership tool—use it.

- Achieve your micro goals. Progress is made step by step—celebrate each win.
- Be intentional. Let purpose guide your goals, not pressure.
- Lead with integrity. Always choose what is right over what is easy.
These nuggets of wisdom laid a powerful foundation for the programme ahead and echoed the core mission of SIGAWomen: to empower a new generation of bold, values-driven leaders in sport.
