Application process to select two additional female leaders to join the SIGA Council is now open

The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) is presenting female leaders from all corners of the sporting eco-system with a unique opportunity to lead Sport Integrity reform.

Today, the world’s largest coalition in the field of sports governance and integrity has announced the launch of an application process that will see two new female leaders join the SIGA Council. The appointment of these new members will fulfill SIGA’s commitment to gender parity in the composition of its internal organs.

With this process, SIGA is taking affirmative action in their on-going quest to advance good governance in Sport and deliver gender equity and female empowerment and leadership in Sport.

This is an opportunity for female leaders to answer our call, give a step forward and press for change”, explained SIGA Global CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, before emphasising the reasons why the Alliance decided to adopt a public process to expand its Council:

SIGA is an open, democratic and independent organisation. We deliver what we promise. We walk the talk. We are breaking down barriers, delivering diversity and being inclusive. As a forward-thinking organisation, we encourage all women that our vision resonates with to step forward and join us. Our process is clear and transparent. Our doors are open to all that are committed to Sport Integrity. We look forward to welcoming you”.

Italian magistrate and former minister Franco Frattini chairs the SIGA Council. Alison Giordano (Mastercard), Mohammed Hanzab (ICSS) and Densign White (IMMAF) serve as vice-chairs. The remaining members include Karin Korb (US Paralympic Champion), Kate Bevan (former F1), Eddie Marshbaum (Quest) and João Paulo Almeida (NOC Portugal). SIGA Global CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros e SIGA Youth Council Chair Taylor Green complete the 12-member list. With the final composition, following these additions, the SIGA Council meet its gender parity target.

The SIGA Council will hold a special session to select the two members from the pool of candidates.

The deadline for submission candidatures expires at 18:00 CET on 28 April 2022. All applications must be submitted by email to info@siga-sport.com, including a covering letter, a detailed CV and references. Applicants will be submitted to an integrity check, pursuant to SIGA protocols.
