The countdown to the third annual Sport Integrity Week has begun. Building on the global success of the past two years’ digital events, the #SIW2022 edition promises to be bigger, better and more impactful than ever before.

Hosted by the municipality of Cascais, at the very heart of the Portuguese Riviera, the #SIW2022 will be held between 12 and 16 of September. It will be staged at the iconic, state-of-the-art Nova School of Business and Economics, reinforcing SIGA’s commitment to empowering the next generation of sports leaders by positioning young people at the centre of Sport Integrity leadership and reform.

More than 250 global leaders, senior executives and high-profile speakers, representing every sector of the sporting industry, including those from the world of sport, government, business, media, technology and youth, will be taking the floor with one common purpose: to share best practice, deliver solutions to current and future challenges and help to facilitate the journey towards enhancing Sport’s governance, protecting its integrity and ensuring its long-term, sustainable development.

The #SIW2022 will comprise multiple interactive stages and a suite of offerings that will present all involved with extensive knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, business development, networking opportunities and career enhancement.

At the World Stage focus will be given to global themes across a cutting-edge series of world-class and interactive panel debates, high-profile one-to-one sessions and insightful keynote speeches with some of the most inspirational and hard-hitting leaders in the global sporting industry. These global issues will be extended by specific continental content to be delivered within bespoke Continental Stages (i.e., Stage America, Stage Latin America, Stage Europe, Stage Africa, Stage Oceania and Stage Asia), including both digital and in-person components.

In addition to all this, there will be a series of “Satellite Events” dedicated to specific key Sport Integrity themes, including but not limited to:

  • #SIGAWomen Lounge: SIGA WoW Lounge, Executive Education and Global Mentorship on Female Leadership in Sport;
  • SIGA Youth Hangout: SIGA Youth Leadership, Empowerment and Cultural Change in Sport;
  • SIGA Earth Forum: Social Responsibility Forum, Environment and Sustainability in Sport;
  • SIGA Tech Hub: Technology, Innovation and Integrity in Sport;
  • SIGA GRID Forum: Gender, Race, Inclusion and Diversity; and
  • SIGA Solutions: Training, Education and Capacity Building on Sport and Integrity

As a result of the depth, diversity and inclusivity of the #SIW2022, SIGA is opening a Request for Proposal process this month to present stakeholders with the opportunity to become directly involved with the world’s premier Sport Integrity event and organise their own initiatives.

Commenting on the launch of the 2022 Sport Integrity Week, SIGA’s Global CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, stated:

“The post-pandemic world is eager for recovery with integrity, stability and peace. Sport must lead the way by championing integrity and values, on and off the field of play. This is what SIGA stands for and what the #SIW2022 will be actively facilitating. I invite all like-minded organisations and individuals to seize this momentous occasion. Whether in-person, in Cascais, or digitally, wherever you are in the world, join us and press for change. The Sport Integrity Week is your chance to pave the way towards a new era in Sport. A Sport governed and operated under the highest integrity standards. ”
